Oh, Galway. You know how to throw a concert. Shayla and I left on Friday from Cork to visit Abigail alone. No problems were had and the bus ride was surprisingly smooth. Armed with the scones we had made the previous night and a new book, I read and napped until we arrived. Abigail was great meeting us at the train station and showing us around. We walked all around the city and took numerous pictures. Somehow we ended marching in a protest that was going on? Not quite sure but we couldn't avoid bumping into it. The city itself is great and very different from Cork. I think its because it feels a tad more rural along with it being smaller? I'm not quite sure but I liked it a lot. If only it had been warmer! The cold has come upon us but it was particularly intense while we were in Galway. Luckily Shayla and I had prepared for such eventualities and packed extremely warmly.

We stopped
Dashboardinto the claddagh museum on our walk and hit up a small cafe before we met up with the other Galway HC girls for dinner. At the cafe, we all got a chance to catch up and hear what the other was doing. I'm envious that it seems like everyone and their dog from HC is going to Paris for New Year's but I wouldn't trade one minute of my going home for it. Not even so I could
ohsocasually drop into conversation that I was thinking about doing Paris for New Year's- NBD.
no big deal- for those who are wondering.
Meeting and hanging out with the other girls was really great as well. The restaurant we went to was a superb choice by Abigail called Milano's that served Italian food. The apartment they live in is amazing. They call it the Penthouse Suite if that gives you any indication. I don't know what they are going to do when they have to go back to Holy Cross.
After lounging around awhile, we all headed out to a pub called the King's Head where live music was playing. They had a great band singing some covers. Abigail happened to see someone from her high school way randomly and it turned out to be a group of kids from Notre Dame who were studying in London visiting for the weekend. One was from Texas! He said he went to Nolan and lived in Fort Worth but we couldn't really hear each other since the music was so loud.
After that random run-in, we had another when we saw another HC girl --from Cork (Erin-whose birthday it was while ago) -- who we knew was visiting Galway in a pub that we went into. We took a picture that had most of us.
Shayla and I ended the night early so we could go visit the CLIFFS OF INSANITY/Moher on Saturday. That post is coming tomorrow!! Trust me, it will be worth the wait.
You know you love me.
XOXO, Gaelic Girl
