Aran Islands

I'm leaving for Inis Meain tomorrow, one of the three Aran Islands. Apparently it is one of the least visited. There are 96-97 inhabitants that rarely leave. They practically just got electricity and only have a few--old and beat up-- cars on the island. Five other girls and I are staying at someones house with our teacher while the rest of our class is spread out across the island (that can evidently be covered by walking for two hours). We are taking a ferry there and thank goodness it will be decent weather or we would die of rain and rough water. I will not have internet until I get back late Thursday night. France was bandied about as a destination for this weekend but since a) it will be very expensive with it being last minute and b) I have not yet fully immigrated yet with my green card which would make it difficult to leave the country, I have decided not to go. But do not worry, dear readers, Shayla and I have decided Paris is a must at the earliest (yet cheapest) opportunity. Total recap of the previously mentioned excursion to the islands to come!
You know you love me.
XOXO, Gaelic Girl

  2. Too bad you could not make it out to Paris! Don't despair, I heard last night that some Americans you know from AR are headed out to Paris in October and you can maybe get out there to see them during their visit. We want an updated blog when you get back from the Islands!
